Every web agency says it is different. Most then describe the same process in the same words. This article is a plain account of how B Bizzi actually works and where we genuinely diverge from the typical Oxfordshire web company, so you can judge for yourself whether we are a fit. It also sets out what we are not, because being honest about that matters too.
We build around your business, not a template
A large share of small business websites are premium themes with the demo content swapped out. That is quick and cheap to produce, but it leaves you with a site that looks like many others, carries features you never asked for, and slows down under the weight of them.
B Bizzi starts from your services, your customers and the way you win work. The structure follows your sales process. The design is drawn from your brand. Only the code you need is installed. The result is a tailored website exclusively for you, not a recoloured stock layout.
No lock-in
We build on open platforms — principally WordPress, which W3Techs reports powers around 43 per cent of all websites, and where appropriate Joomla or Drupal. You own the site, the domain, the hosting account and the content. There is no proprietary builder that only we can edit, and no contract that traps you. If you ever want to move to another provider, you can, and we will help you do it cleanly.
This matters because the alternative is common: agencies that build on a closed system, or register the domain in their own name, so that leaving means starting again. Ask any prospective supplier a simple question — “if I leave in two years, what do I walk away with?” — and see how clear the answer is.
We are local and we stay reachable
B Bizzi is based in Witney. We work across Oxfordshire — Oxford, Woodstock, Burford, Bicester, Banbury, Kidlington, Abingdon and Didcot — and we can meet in person to plan a project or sort out a problem. When you call, you speak to the people who built your site, not a ticket queue. For a local business, a supplier who can come to you and who understands the trading area is worth more than a cheaper option two hundred miles away.
We are honest about what you need
If a template is the right answer for your budget, we will say so. If your project suits Shopify better than WooCommerce, or Drupal better than WordPress, we will tell you. We would rather give you an accurate recommendation and a smaller invoice than sell you something that does not fit. That approach costs us the occasional larger project and wins us long-term clients, which is a trade we are happy with.
We take performance and SEO seriously from the start
Speed and search visibility are not add-ons. Every B Bizzi build ships with optimised images, minimal plugins, caching configured, a clean URL structure, unique page titles and meta descriptions, an XML sitemap, structured data where relevant, and verification in Google Search Console. Google’s research shows bounce rates rise sharply as pages slow down, and Core Web Vitals have been a ranking factor since 2021, so we build light by default rather than selling a “speed optimisation” package later to fix a problem we created.
We can run the site for you
Many small business owners do not want to log in and edit pages. Our website management service keeps content current, applies updates, monitors uptime, and handles backups, so the site stays healthy without taking your time. Our SEO services and our own SEO Toolz platform help the site keep earning traffic after launch.
Fair, transparent pricing
We quote clearly, we explain what each item is for, and we do not pad projects with features that mainly serve to raise the total. Our name reflects the point: affordable business websites, built properly. You will not get a vague lump sum; you will get an itemised quote you can question.
What we are not
We are not the cheapest option, and we are not a volume factory turning out identical sites. We do not chase work outside our field, and we do not take on projects where the budget cannot support doing the job properly, because a half-built site helps nobody. If you need a large corporate rebrand with a dedicated in-house team, we are probably not the right fit, and we will say so early.
How we work with you, step by step
Being different is only useful if the process delivers. Ours is deliberately simple:
- A first conversation, no charge. We talk about your business, what you need the site to do, and your budget. If we are not the right fit, we say so and, where we can, point you somewhere better.
- A written proposal. Itemised, so you can see what each element costs and why. No lump sums.
- Discovery and content planning. We agree the structure, the pages and what each one is for before any design work.
- Design and build. You see the design early and give feedback while changes are cheap, not at the end.
- Review and launch. We test on real devices, check forms, set up analytics and Search Console, and hand over with training.
- Aftercare. Optional management and SEO, or simply a support arrangement so you know who to call.
At every stage you are dealing with the people doing the work.
Taking over a site built by someone else
A common reason businesses come to us is that their previous designer has become hard to reach, or has stopped trading. We regularly take on sites we did not build: we audit what is there, get the domain and hosting back into your name, fix the urgent problems, and then either improve the existing site or plan a rebuild if that is genuinely the better value. You are never stuck just because the original builder has gone.
